Almond Joy Martini Recipe

If you love the coconut chocolate almond bar, this Almond Joy martini is sure to satisfy you. I first created it for a girls’ night, and it quickly became our go-to gluttonous drink. It’s like drinking dessert out of a fancy glass—rich and creamy and really, very easy to make. And the best part? It doesn’t require any skills behind the bar.
What is an Almond Joy Martini?
It is a cocktail that combines the flavors of a beloved candy bar. All in all, it is a rich blend of coconut rum, chocolate liqueur, and amaretto sucked into your mouth and makes you feel like you are in heaven.
Ingredients
Liquors
- 1 oz coconut rum (like Malibu)
- 1 oz chocolate liqueur (like Godiva or crème de cacao)
- 1 oz amaretto
Creamy Base
- 1 oz half-and-half or heavy cream
Optional Garnishes
- Chocolate syrup (for drizzling the glass)
- Shredded coconut (for rimming the glass)
- Chocolate shavings or an Almond Joy candy bar (for topping)
Instructions
- Prep the glass: Refrigerate the martini glass after running chocolate syrup down the inside. Otherwise, rim the glass by dipping the edge in simple syrup and rolling it in shredded coconut for a coconut-rimmed martini glass.
- Mix the drink: Add ice to a cocktail shaker. Pour in coconut rum, chocolate liqueur, amaretto, and cream directly into it.
- Shake it up: Shake the cocktail for 15 seconds, or until chilled and nice and creamy.
- Strain and serve: Strain into your prepped martini glass. Garnish with chocolate shavings or an Almond Joy candy bar piece for a fancy touch.

Storage Tips
- This drink is best enjoyed fresh.
- Note: For those preparing it ahead of time, combine the liquors and refrigerate. Just before serving, add the cream and shake.
- Do not freeze; it won’t have the proper mouthfeel.
Serving Suggestions
- This drink is served as a dessert after dinner.
- Match this with either chocolate cake or coconut macarons.
- Do it in bulk for the party; shake these ingredients into the desired amount.
Pro Tips & Variations
- Dairy-free? Replace the cream with coconut milk or almond milk.
- Want it less sweet? Use dark crème de cacao in place of chocolate liqueur.
- Want more coconut flavor? Add a few drops of coconut extract or use toasted coconut flakes for garnish.
FAQs

Absolutely! Amaretto can be left out for something without that almond flavor, or use Frangelico to get a little hazelnut twist of flavor.
2. Is the Almond Joy Martini very sweet?
Sweet would be accurate, but it’s not sugary. You can control sweetness by using dark chocolate liqueur or cream.
3. Can I make it vegan?
Just go dairy-free by using almond cream, and ensure your liqueurs are vegan.
4. What if I don’t have a cocktail shaker?
No problem! Use a sealed mason jar, give it a great shake!
